You Need to Try These Broccoli Burgers with Secret Sauce

Image credit: Alanna Taylor Tobin | The Bojon Gourmet

Looking for a better veggie burger? You just found it. These Adda Veggie broccoli burgers are packed with plant-powered goodness and bold flavor—no freezer burn or mystery ingredients in sight. With a crispy exterior, tender middle, and savory umami kick, they’re a total game-changer for your next weeknight dinner or summer cookout.

Unlike store-bought veggie patties that can fall flat on flavor (or texture), Adda Veggie mix lets you build a better burger from the ground up. It starts with fresh veggies—like broccoli—and gets a boost from a blend of protein and spice that holds it all together. The result? A burger that’s juicy, crispy, and totally satisfying. Add the tangy, creamy “secret sauce” on top and you’ll want to put this one on repeat all summer long. Recipe from Down to Cook Foods.

Ingredients

Scale

Burger Patties:

  • 1 package Adda Veggie Protein Mix Original Blend
  • 2 heads broccoli
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil (plus 1 tbsp more if not grilling)

Toppings:

Secret Sauce:

Instructions

  1. For the secret sauce: Mince onion (hot tip: you can use the parts of the onion that don’t slice into neat burger rings). Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a small bowl and store in refrigerator.
  2. For the burgers on the grill: Prepare a full package of Adda Veggie using broccoli. Handshape into 4 burger-sized patties.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook burger for 2-3 minutes each side until golden brown and crisp. Transfer to a plate.
  4. Meanwhile, heat up the grill to medium heat (approx. 350° F).
  5. Cut the onion into ¼-inch thick slices.  Grill the sliced onions until lightly softened and grill-marked on both sides.
  6. Place cooked Adda Veggie broccoli burgers onto the grill. Once the bottom of each patty has grill marks, flip and place American cheese slice on top of each burger. Cover the grill to melt the cheese and remove the patties from the grill when the cheese is melted.
  7. For the burgers on the stove: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cut the onion into ¼-inch thick slices. Add the onion and cook until soft, translucent, and a little brown. Skip this step if you prefer raw onions in your burger.
  8. Prepare a full package of Adda Veggie using broccoli. Handshape into 4 burger-sized patties.
  9. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook burger for 4-5 minutes each side until golden brown and crisp.
  10. Flip burgers and place American cheese slices on top of each burger. Cover the pan to melt the cheese and remove the patties when the cheese is melted. Transfer to a plate
  11. Slice the kaiser rolls in half and toast on the same pan you made the burgers on. Remove and generously spread both buns with secret sauce. Top with butter lettuce, broccoli cheeseburger patties, sliced tomato, and grilled onions.
  12. Serve immediately, with any additional secret sauce on the side.

Pile your burgers high on toasted buns with crunchy lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and a generous smear of secret sauce. Or ditch the bun and go bowl-style with a scoop of grains, fresh slaw, and pickled onions. However you serve it, this one’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.
