Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups of mixed cereal
- ¾ cup chocolate chips
- ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cups powdered sugar
- ¾ cup roasted, salted peanuts
- 1 cup pretzel sticks
Instructions
- Add cereal to a large bowl. Add chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter to a medium bowl and microwave in 30 second increments, mixing in between, until melted. Add salt and vanilla extract to chocolate mixture, stir to combine.
- Pour chocolate mixture over cereal and toss to evenly coat. Let chocolate set and come to room temperature, about 10 minutes.
- Sift 1 cup powdered sugar, ½ cup at a time, over the cereal mixture then toss to coat. Repeat with the other ½ cup of powdered sugar, then transfer puppy chow to a parchment-lined baking sheet to set for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Sift the remaining ¼ cup of powdered sugar over the puppy chow, toss to coat, then mix in peanut and pretzels before serving.
