What Are Mystery Melons?
Our Mystery Melons are a rotating selection of unique melon varieties sourced from partner farms throughout the season. Depending on what our farm partners are harvesting and what needs a home, you could receive anything from intensely sweet orange-fleshed melons to fragrant specialty varieties with vibrant colors and textures.
Because this program helps us support farmers and reduce waste, you’ll receive one variety per order, chosen based on what’s at peak freshness and ready to ship. It’s part surprise, part summer adventure, and all juicy.
Melon Varieties You Might Receive
Orange Flesh Melon
Sweet, juicy, and sunset-colored inside, orange flesh melons are wonderfully aromatic with a rich, tropical flavor. Slice for snacking, add to fruit salads, or wrap with prosciutto for a sweet-and-savory combo.
Juan Canary Melon
Bright yellow on the outside and oblong in shape, these melons feature a unique cream-colored flesh with a soft, translucent texture and are known for their mild, sweet flavor with a hint of tartness. They’re also a good source of vitamins A, C and potassium!
Santa Claus Melon
Also called a Christmas melon, this elongated variety resembles a watermelon though it’s much smaller in size. Its exterior is green and striped while the netted skin is more like honeydew with a yellow-green (and sometimes peachy) flesh.
Golden Dew Melon
A golden twist on classic honeydew, Golden Dew melons are extra fragrant with silky, juicy flesh and mellow sweetness. Pair with citrus, mint, or yogurt for a bright summer breakfast.
Hami Melon
Featuring a beautiful golden yellow rind and flesh, Hami melons have a firmer bite and a unique floral aroma when ripe and a sweet, tropical flavor.
Tuscan Melon
Originating in Italy, this cantaloupe features a golden, netted rind and rich orange flesh with a spectacularly juicy flavor.
Picasso Melon
With striking patterned skin and sweet, tender flesh, Picasso melons are as beautiful as they are flavorful. Their balanced sweetness makes them perfect for snacking or dessert boards.
Picasso Sunrise Melon
A colorful variation of the Picasso melon, Picasso Sunrise offers vibrant flesh and juicy sweetness with tropical undertones. Serve chilled for peak flavor on hot summer days.
