3 Ways to Upgrade Your Latke Dips

There’s so much more to latke dipping than regular-old sour cream and applesauce. Upgrade yours with nothing more than a couple pantry staples and some garlic and herbs, and prepare to make on repeat.

For some a touch of heat, try harissa-tahini sauce:

Mix together 1 cup of sour cream, 1½ tablespoons of tahini, and 2 tablespoons of harissa. Add a splash of lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste.

For something akin to sour cream, try vegan caramelized onion and chive dip:

In a skillet over low heat, caramelize ½ of a sliced onion in a couple tablespoons of unsalted butter and olive oil, and salt to taste. While you’re waiting, combine 1 cup of plant-based sour cream, the juice of ¼ of a lemon, 1 bunch of chopped chives, garlic powder (or fresh garlic), and smoked paprika or cayenne in a bowl. Let the onions cool, then add to the dip, drizzling any oil remaining over top.
