Every box we pack is a bet that grocery shopping can be better—better sourced, better tasting, better for the people making your food.

August brought one of the deepest beverage lineups we’ve launched all year, plus a set of Odds & Ends bowls we’ve been working on for a while. Here’s what’s new, and why it belongs in your cart.

The Beverage Aisle Got Interesting

If you only look at one category this month, make it this one. De La Calle Strawberry Citrus brings a modern take on Mexican soda—lightly fermented, not-too-sweet, and a genuine alternative to the sugar bombs that dominate the shelf. Sanzo landed with two Asian-inspired sparkling waters, Mandarin and Pomelo, using real fruit to hit flavors most sparkling water brands never attempt. Spindrift’s Cherry and Yuzu Mandarin round out the bubbly section with real-squeezed-fruit flavor, and Athletic Brewing’s Athletic Lite Lime & Salt gives you the ritual of a cold one without the buzz.

Function, Without the Chalk

A few of this month’s drinks are doing more than tasting good. Sap’s Lemon Lime Electrolyte Beverage replaces what a hot afternoon takes out of you, no neon dye required. Laird Superfood’s Vanilla Protein Coffee folds protein into your morning cup so it’s one fewer thing to think about. And Corpse Reviver arrived with two botanical non-alcoholic options—Botanical and Berry Hibiscus—for anyone who wants something complex enough to sip slowly at the end of the day.

Snacks That Are Secretly Something Else

The best discoveries this month are the ones that make you double-take at the ingredient list. Smood Sweets’ Candy Dates, made from real dates instead of corn syrup, come in Sour Watermelon and Sweet Berry Fish. Floura’s Brownie Batter Daily Fiber Bar does the same trick with fiber, and Sweet Craft’s Chocolate Protein Pudding lands somewhere between dessert and a recovery snack. For something more straightforward, Siete’s Churro Cinnamon Chips are exactly what they sound like and every bit as good.

Our Own Best-Kept Secret

Not every great new arrival comes from an outside partner. Our private label, Odds & Ends, launched four ready-to-eat bowls this month, and they’re some of the most useful things we’ve put our name on. The Mac and Cheese Bowl is the comfort pick. The Yaki Udon Noodle Bowl and Gochujang Power Bowl bring real depth of flavor to a category that usually settles for beige. And the Chili Bowl with Cornbread is a full meal that takes minutes. It’s the same promise behind everything we build under our own name: prove that “better” doesn’t have to mean “expensive.”

The Bottom Line

Grocery shopping usually asks you to pick one: sourced-with-integrity or affordable, small-batch or convenient, sustainable or delicious. This month’s lineup is our answer to why you shouldn’t have to choose. Come see what else is in the box.
