Organic Mystery Hot Pepper Sampler

At Misfits Market, we’re on a mission to make organic grocery delivery more exciting, more accessible, and more sustainable. One of the ways we do that? With our mystery produce—a creative (and fun!) solution that helps farmers use more of their total harvest, while giving you delicious surprises with every box.

These variety-flexible offerings are a win-win: farmers get flexibility, food gets saved from waste, and customers get flavorful, seasonal produce delivered to their door from one of the best organic grocery stores in the market.

What is the Organic Mystery Hot Pepper Sampler?

Our Organic Mystery Hot Pepper Sampler is a fiery little grab bag that spotlights the spicy side of the farmers’ harvest. Think of it as your all-access pass to jalapeños, serranos, and a rotating cast of heat-forward peppers—perfect for snacking, cooking, pickling, and leveling up your weeknight meals.

What You Might Find in a Mystery Hot Pepper Sampler

Green Jalapeño

The classic. Medium heat, grassy flavor, and endlessly versatile. Slice them raw for crunch, roast for smokiness, or pickle them!

Serrano

A little slimmer and a little hotter than jalapeños, with a bright, fresh flavor perfect for salsas. Serranos keep their texture well when cooked, so they’re great for stir-fries and soups.

Cherry Bomb

Round, red, and deceptively cute, Cherry Bombs pack a punch but finish sweet, making them ideal for stuffing, pickling, or chopping into relishes.

Yellow Jalapeño

Same jalapeño flavor you love but with a sunny, citrusy brightness. Slightly sweeter, often slightly milder, and great for fresh salsas or topper peppers.

Yellow Santa Fe (Guero) Pepper

A mild-to-medium yellow chile with a vibrant tang. They’re fantastic roasted, blistered, or stuffed.

Because this pack pulls from a wide range of the harvest, you might see repeats or a mix of varieties—but that’s the magic of mystery produce!

What to Do With Your Mystery Hot Peppers

Hot peppers add heat, brightness, and depth to almost anything you cook. Try:

  • Slicing them raw for a crunchy, spicy topping on tacos, bowls, and salads
  • Charring them whole under the broiler or in a hot pan for smoky flavor
  • Sautéing with onions and garlic as the base of chilis, stews, and stir-fries
  • Roasting and blending into salsas, sauces, or spicy vinaigrettes
  • Pickling for an easy, fridge-friendly garnish that lasts all week
  • Adding thin slices to egg dishes like scrambles, omelets, or frittatas
